The Christchurch earthquakes

Today I have to do a blog about the work I have been doing work about the Christchurch earthquakes we had to read a book and then answer some questions one of the questions were how have the Christchurch earthquakes had an impact on our city I just write that the earthquakes destroyed lots of houses and destroyed some other stuff here is the work that I did.

How have the Christchurch earthquakes had an impact on our city? The Canterbury earthquakes caused a significant change to the natural environment including liquefaction, the land levels changed and there were numerous rock slides and landfalls. Also, lots of houses were destroyed in the earthquake and the walls of some of the houses fell down and some water pipes got destroyed. Roads, bridges, power lines, cell phone towers and buildings collapsed.

What positive or negatives have come from the quakes? Some of the negative things that have happened from the Christchurch earthquakes are that there was a lot of damage across Christchurch there were about 185 people that died there was also 164 people that were seriously injured by the earthquakes and many thousands of people were injured. Some positive things that have come from the Christchurch earthquakes are that they got to build some better buildings then they had back in 2011.

What are some changes that citizens have made to prevent damage happening from potential future earthquakes? Some of the things that they are doing to prevent more damage are when they are building a new house they are making the structure better so it is not so easily knocked down also some schools or something they are nailing down things like bookcases and people that work at bars or other places they will be more prepared for the next big earthquake.
